Sometimes the idea of gifting material things just doesn’t sound appealing or perhaps it seems that the mom you’re shopping for already owns everything under the sun and you’re stuck. Think about the types of things she likes to do — what are her favorite activities? What would she do if she could do absolutely anything? The gift of an experience can also allow for you to do something together or for her to do something with someone else she enjoys spending time with. Here are some suggestions for gifting experiences and services for the mom(s) in your life:

  • A cooking class at Sur La Table
  • A package of yoga or Orangetheory classes
  • A spa day and/or mani/pedi
  • A dining experience at their favorite restaurant
  • A day leisurely wandering around their favorite place
  • A hosted brunch, lunch or dinner serving their favorite meal
  • Tickets to a concert or show
  • Take some chores of her to-do list

The memories of an experience, particularly if you do something together, will be remembered far beyond Mother’s Day.

If all else fails, tell her you love her and thank her for everything she does. And don’t forget, Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 13th!

BTW, don’t miss the post on how to build a gift basket
