Since I was a child I’ve always liked soft purple hues. Over the years my childhood bedroom walls went from a light lavender to a deeper purple with a gray undertone.
The lavender hue envokes a sense of calm for me, too, so maybe it’s high time I incorporate more of this color into my life in clothing, accessories and home decor. Do any colors do that for you too?
I recently read about the psychology of color and how colors can elicit memories and emotions within us. It’s quite fascinating, really. In many ways it serves as a reminder to surround myself with things (and people) that make me feel good and keep out the things that don’t.

Did you ever notice that the scent of lavender is often found in a lot of natural products? It’s also known for its health benefits including the ability to induce relaxation, calm, better sleep and more! One way to use lavender is via essential oils. I’ve personally not used them before, but it seems many people love them and their healing properties both mentally and physically.
On a somewhat related note, I’ve been wearing this Tocca perfume with a simple lavender label for about 7 years now and have yet to tire of it. It’s a beautiful, warm scent; Tocca characterizes it as spicy, sweet and seductive. Hello! Everytime I breath in the scent I spritz on my wrists I find that it brings pleasant memories and feelings. The glass bottle itself is really pretty too and serves as its own decorative piece on my nightstand.
What do you think about this shade of purple? Do you wear lavender colored clothing or accessories or style your home in that hue? Do you use lavender essential oil for its health benefits?
