With a whirlwind of February birthdays and a small at-home celebration of Valentine’s Day behind us, I’m already gearing up for Easter next month.
This year my daughter is old enough to have a better sense of what is going on and a bit more excitement about the fun of an Easter basket and an Easter egg hunt.
She absolutely loves the color pink, so I definitely let that color take the lead in most of the itema for her Easter basket.
While I don’t want to make this holiday feel like Christmas as far as gifts go, I do try to fill their Easter baskets with a broad range of items, particularly those that they can use in spring and summer.

Here are some of the Easter basket “categories” I use as a guide when picking out items for each of my kids baskets.
• Something sweet and festive to eat
• Something to read related to the holiday or the season
• Something to wear in warmer months
• Something to play with outside
• Something to use all year long
I guess you could say that many of the items in the basket would need to be purchased anyway, sort of like adding socks and a toothbrush to a Christmas stocking. 😆

Here’s to hoping for a warm and sunny Easter Sunday to enjoy an Easter egg hunt, time with family and their new gifts.
