Our Wedding Favors

Wedding favors weren’t in the initial budget, and I didn’t want to bother with a favor that would be essentially deemed useless and disposable because it had our names on it (like a shot glass). After some thinking, I decided that adding a token of our appreciation for everyone making the long journey to Maui for our wedding was something I felt we should do. And I had just the idea!

In keeping with the pineapple motif theme for our wedding in Maui, the wedding favors naturally followed suit. The wedding favors we chose were edible, of course, and absolutely adorable and delicious. We chose pineapple shaped butter cookies from Honolulu Cookie Company (HCC). They are super cute and individually wrapped. I incorporated navy, gold and white into the packaging.

Each favor included:

  • One clear pillow box (4.75″ x 3″ x 1″)
  • Two pineapple shaped cookies
  • One piece of gold striped washi tape
  • One custom “Mahalo” sticker that I designed on Zazzle

These were assembled in advance and packed in a suitcase for travel to Maui.

Ordering the cookies prepackaged as wedding favors directly from HCC was too pricey, so I ordered them in bulk (106 cookies to be exact #gottasampleafewforqualityassurance) and purchased clear pillow favor boxes on eBay. We made 50 favors.

I chose to assemble the favors myself rather than paying for HCC to do it. For one, it was more cost effective to do it myself, and second, the eBay pillow boxes I purchased on eBay didn’t have a logo on them like the HCC ones, so I could completely customize each favor with washi tape and a sticker. There was a logo on the wrapping of the cookies, but it wasn’t very noticeable.

I purchased additional cookies for our wedding reception back home in Massachusetts. This time, I designed placed slightly modified stickers from Zazzle that read “Just Maui’d” directly on the individually wrapped cookies.

They were super easy to make, turned out so cute, tasted really good and were a hit with our guests!
