The BEST TIP for Using Walt Disney World’s Magic Band

Are you heading to Walt Disney World? Whether you go monthly or this is your headed to Disney World for the first time for the most magical once in a lifetime trip, you probably know about Magic Bands.

If you have used a Magic Band you know just how useful they are if you chose to purchase Lightning Lanes or to pay for items throughout Walt Disney World. Just one quick tap and you are in the park, on Pirates of the Caribbean or eating your Mickey shaped pretzel or the epic cinnamon rolls from Gaston’s in Magic Kingdom.

Walt Disney World is just easier with the quick tap of your Magic Band. With that being said, Magic Bands are worn on your wrist which means a lot of movement while walking, getting on and off rides and getting bumped into in doing so. Unfortunately, the Magic Bands are a bit flawed when it comes to staying securely on your wrist. The Magic Bands have tiny little teeth that snap into the other side of the band with a small loop that fastens around both bands to keep them together. That’s the goal anyway, but unfortunately, the Magic Bands have a tendency to unsnap and fall off without you being the wiser as you navigate down Main Street.

What is the solution to keeping the Magic Bands securely fastened? Doubling down on silicone fasteners that have a tighter fit around the Magic Bands straps. I use two of these fasteners per Magic Band to ensure they are secured as well as possible. The fasteners are inexpensive and come in a variety of colors to complement any of the unique styles of Magic Band’s Walt Disney World offers.

Before leaving for our trip I placed two of the silicone fasteners on each Magic Band for my family so we were ready to go once we got to Walt Disney World. As the primary Family Vacation Director I will do just about anything to be organized and get ahead in order to make things easier for future me.

DID YOU KNOW?

If you have young children and will be using Magic Bands your child(ren) (age 3+) will have their own Magic Band to scan into each park; however, Walt Disney World will require a parents/guardians finger print to complete the two-step park entry process for young children whose fingers are a bit too small to work well on the finger print touchpad.
