9 Stylish Round Storage Baskets

Whether you’re inundated with toys, blankets or magazines, baskets are a great tool to get organized. They come in so many different shapes, sizes and materials to meet your specific needs, function and space. The baskets I rounded up are all circular and are of a larger scale that allow them to easily stand alone as a decorative item in a room — no shelf or bookcase required.

In our living room we use a tall, round basket with handles similar to the shape of #7 to store extra throws and blankets. It fills up a little corner nicely and adds warmth and texture to the room. That’s another great thing about baskets. They can easily, and often inexpensively, change the mood of a space, so if you’re in the mood for a mix-up in your living room or office, in addition to purchasing new throw pillows, curtains or accessories, consider adding a decorative basket.

Much like throw pillows and blankets, I also have an obsession with baskets. I use them in closets, on bookshelves and in larger pieces of furniture like this cabinet we recently purchased and use as a TV stand. The idea of grouping and gathering like-things together into a confined space, like a basket, creates a visual and mental sense of organization. For example, we have a fair amount of serveware and entertaining pieces, so I use a basket to keep the appetizer plates together and another basket for paper cocktail napkins, food picks and straws.

There are countless ways to use baskets (and storage bins for that matter). I hope this round-up inspired you to add one, or two, as a decorative element to a room in your home!
